Day 21: Make a List of People or Places Where You Feel Safe
Today’s challenge is about safety—not just physical safety, but emotional safety too.
Make a list of people or places where you feel safe.
Where you feel like you can take a deep breath.
Where you don’t have to perform, shrink, or pretend.
Where you can show up as your full self and still be loved.
We all need that kind of safety.
And at this stage of life, it’s time we stop settling for anything less.
This is your invitation to slow down and ask:
Who really sees me?
Where do I feel most like myself?
Your list might include:
A best friend who always listens without judgment
Your bedroom, wrapped in a blanket
The beach, the garden, the woods
A favorite café with no pressure to talk
Your own journal and a cup of tea
If you can’t think of many right away, that’s okay.
This list isn’t to shame you—it’s to remind you of what to lean into and what to build more of.
Why this matters:
Feeling safe is not a luxury—it’s a basic need.
It’s where we heal.
It’s where we grow.
It’s where our nervous system can finally exhale.
Knowing where your safe spaces are helps you navigate the hard days with more clarity and care.
Try this:
Grab a pen and paper.
Write at the top: “Places and people where I feel safe are…”
List as many as you can.
Sit with the list. Let it settle. And remind yourself:
“I deserve to feel safe.”
Then ask yourself:
How can I give myself more of this?
Who do I need less of to protect my peace?
Your Turn:
What’s on your list today?
Tag @FabAtFiftyPlus or use #FabMentalHealthMay and share one space or person that gives you peace.
Because safety isn’t just about walls.
It’s about energy.
And you deserve to be surrounded by people and places that feel like home.
