Day 6: What Are You Ready to Let Go Of?
Some things we carry because we have to.
But some things? We’ve been dragging them around for years—and we don’t even realize how heavy they’ve become.
Today, we’re putting one of them down.
Your challenge:
Write down something you’re ready to let go of.
Not tomorrow. Not next month. Today.
It could be:
An old grudge you’ve been feeding like it’s keeping you safe
A toxic belief that says you're not enough
Shame from a mistake that no one even remembers
The need to prove yourself
The fear of what other people think
That “perfect version” of you that never really existed
Whatever it is… name it.
Say it out loud. Write it down.
And then say: “I release you. I don’t need to carry this anymore.”
Here’s why this matters:
Carrying old weight clogs up your energy. It messes with your peace.
You think you’re tired because of your age or your schedule,
but sometimes you’re tired because of all the emotional junk in your hands.
Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting.
It means you’re choosing freedom over holding on to what’s already done.
You’re not the same woman you were when you picked that thing up.
You’re wiser now. Softer. Stronger.
You don’t need it anymore.
Here’s how to do it:
Find a quiet space.
Write the sentence: “I am ready to let go of…”
Let your pen tell the truth.
Then write: “And I give myself permission to release it.”
If you want, rip the paper up.
Toss it. Burn it (safely!). Bury it in a plant.
Whatever feels symbolic to you.
Your Turn:
What’s one thing that’s been weighing on your heart?
What story are you tired of repeating in your head?
Let today be the day you set it down.
And if you feel brave enough, share it.
Tag me @FabAtFiftyPlus or use #FabMentalHealthMay and say, “Today, I let go.”
Because freedom doesn’t always start with fireworks.
Sometimes it starts with a pen, a pause, and a choice.
You’ve carried enough. Let this be lighter.
