Day 9: Drink a Full Glass of Water Before Coffee or Tea

Before the coffee.
Before the tea.
Before you scroll, serve, or start solving everyone else’s problems—
Drink a full glass of water.

A clear glass of water symbolizing mindful hydration and wellness for women over 50.

That’s your challenge today. And honestly? It’s more powerful than it sounds.

When we sleep, we go 6–8 hours without water. That’s a long time for your body to be working with nothing in the tank. Your brain, your joints, your skin, your energy—they all wake up dehydrated. And then what do we do?
We pour coffee or tea, which pulls even more water out of us.

So today, we flip the script.

Start with water. Give your body something it actually needs.

You’ll feel clearer.
You might feel less achy.
You’ll be a little gentler on your digestion, your mood, and your morning.

It’s also a signal.
A quiet but strong message: “I take care of me first.”

You’re not just checking a health box.
You’re showing up for your body with respect.

Before the caffeine.
Before the emails.
Before the rush.

You choose yourself.

Your Turn:

Drink that water slowly.
Don’t multitask.
Let it be your first act of self-care today.
And if you want to say it out loud, go ahead:
“I start my day by nourishing me.”

Because sometimes healing doesn’t look like therapy—it looks like choosing water over coffee just this once.
